Advanced and Sustainable New Technology and Product Introduction
In June of 2011, the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology proposed the formation of an advanced manufacturing partnership led by Dow Chemical’s CEO, Andrew Liveris and MIT President, Susan Hockfield. In 2013 an initial design was developed for the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI). And with the RAMI Act, Manufacturing USA was formally established in 2014. Manufacturing USA is a catalyst for the advancement of technology in the United States. A cutting-edge manufacturing sector is essential to technical differentiation that is not readily surpassed. Furthermore, sustained differentiation must have a process of new-idea generation and design and development of products that drive fabrication volume and revenue. This presentation will show how SEMI supports strategic infrastructure development including research, design, and manufacturing toward dual-use initiatives that foster the U. S. technical ecosystem and commercial markets simultaneously.
