NextFlex, An Extraordinary Journey into the Future of Next Generation Electronics
NextFlex and its member community are at the leading edge of a revolution in next generation electronics, transforming traditional rigid systems into thin, lightweight, and conformal form factors that enable never imagined systems. These systems are integral to a variety of markets in human health monitoring, structural health monitoring, array antennas, and soft robotics, both for consumer and military applications. It is NextFlex’s mission to expand the US FHE manufacturing ecosystem, to advance the manufacturability of FHE systems through collaborative development and grow the next generation workforce for the advanced manufacturing sector. The breadth of printing, assembly and test capability at the NextFlex fab continues to expand and provide technology solutions for many applications, including new capabilities for both FDA and ITAR compliant manufacturing. Looking to the future, we will add in-house wafer thinning, very large area printing capability on irregular surfaces, and a unique combination of high precision robotics, high-resolution vision system, and printing for precision manufacturing at a new level. The talk will conclude with examples of new electronic systems developed for the applications and markets noted above based on new, robust generations of the flexible Arduino® microcontroller that NextFlex designs and manufactures.
