Advanced Multi-functional Films for Displays Application
Scratch resistance screen protection film was formulated by using highly cross-linked silsesquioxane hybrid using structure-property relationships in organic-inorganic hybridization and fabricated by the R2R process. It provides a framework for the application of silsesquioxane hybrids in protective hard coatings with high scratch resistance and flexibility for flexible displays application. We have also analyzed formulations and coating process of anti-reflective films and light diffusion films in detail for displays application, and we successfully produced anti-reflective film and light diffusion film by developing our proprietary formulations and roll to roll process. The reflection measurements of single-layer coating and double layers coatings matched the simulation values closely. The luminous reflectance (Y) reached 0.9 % when a single layer of low Refractive index (RI) solution was coated on the substrate. The Y reached blew 0.6 % when an optimized low RI/high RI double layers formulation was coated on the clear hard-coated substrate. The light diffusion films are designed specifically for LED backlight and LED lighting to provide a wide range of illumination angles and hiding ratios for accurate light output. Kimoto adds value and multi-functionality by applying a variety of proprietary coatings to plastic substrates on one or both sides.
