Dr. Gregory received B.S. degrees in Chem. Eng. and Ocean Eng. from URI in 1975 and his M.S. degree in Chem. Eng. in 1977. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Brown University in 1984. He is currently a Distinguished Engineering Professor at URI and Director of the Sensors and Surface Technology Partnership. Dr. Gregory has published 100+ peer-reviewed articles and has 35 US patents on thin-film sensors. His work has largely focused on thin-film sensors for harsh environments, wide bandgap semiconductors, and chemical sensors, and has been funded by the gas turbine engine industry, NASA, DOE, Air Force, NSF and DHS.
