Thomas W. Kenny holds a Ph.D. in Physics from UC Berkeley. From 1989 to 1993, he developed electron-tunneling microsensors at JPL. In 1994, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford where he directs research in resonators, wafer-scale packaging, cantilever beam force sensors, microfluidics, and novel fabrication techniques. He co-founded Cooligy, SiTime and Applaud Medical. He is currently Richard Weiland Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Senior Associate Dean of Engineering for Student Affairs. He has co-authored over 250 scientific papers and is a holder of 50 issued patents, and has been an advisor to more than 60 Ph.D. students from Stanford.
