Michael Crump
PhD Candidate University of Washington
Michael R. Crump is a Materials Science and Engineering PhD Candidate supervised by Prof. Devin MacKenzie at the University of Washington. His research interests focus on printed electromechanical devices, including 1) lead-free piezoelectric sensors for applications in structural health monitoring, 2) biocompatible, 3D-printable organogel-based strain sensors for applications in surgical simulation and education, and 3) electrohydrodynamic inkjet printing of functional materials onto polymer substrates for applications in flexible electronics. Previous areas of research include perovskite solar cells and nanocrystal surface chemistry for solution-processable optoelectronic applications. He graduated with a B.S.E. and M.S.E. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
