MacroTechnology Works is a world-class research and prototyping facility that is providing innovation, acceleration and access. It is one of the few university-based sites in the U.S. capable of working at industry-standard semiconductor and device production scales. The facility houses expansive clean rooms, advanced wet and dry labs, solar- and electronics-fabrication lines, FOWLP line and pilot-scale production capabilities. It’s staffed by experienced research engineers and technical professionals, and importantly, it provides students with hands-on access to cutting-edge tools and training — equipping the next generation of engineers and researchers with real-world, industry-grade experience. By enabling collaborations among academia, startups, large companies, and government agencies, MTW helps bridge early-stage research and market-ready manufacturing while helping build a skilled workforce ready to support growth in microelectronics, energy and advanced-materials industries.
