Niko Muenzenrieder

Niko Muenzenrieder is an associate professor for physics of matter at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in Italy. He is also the coordinator of the Smart Systems Technologies and Engineering research area. Additionally, he is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in sensor technology with the Sensor Technology Research Centre at the University of Sussex (UK). Niko Muenzenrieder received his Diploma in Physics from TU München (Germany), a PhD in electrical engineering from ETH Zurich (Switzerland) in 2014. He is working on the design, fabrication, and characterization of electronics on deformable substrates. His research focuses on oxide semiconductors and technologies for flexible thin-film transistors and analog circuits, as well as customizable electronic sensor systems with tailored electrical and mechanical properties for biocompatible wearables, smart textiles, and soft robots.
