Stephen Farias

Dr. Farias holds a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a BSE in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University with a research focus on nanomaterials design and processing techniques. Dr. Farias is the CSO of Materic, an organization founded in 2020 that specializes in the development and scale-up of chemical products and custom material manufacturing. Materic is the culmination and combination of multiple organizations’ capabilities including NanoDirect and DiPole Materials. NanoDirect, which Dr. Farias founded in 2013, focuses on scaling and reliability of materials for printable and flexible electronics and DiPole Materials is advanced nanomaterials and smart textile manufacturer. He has also served as a faculty lecturer at Johns Hopkins University since 2016. He has presented at several leading technical conferences on materials processing and properties including the meetings of the Materials Research Society, The Electrochemical Society, Printed Electronics USA, and FLEX. He is an active contributor to the flexible and printable electronics and advanced textiles communities.
